Arsenal defender William Saliba could make his comeback from a back injury in tomorrow’s Champions League fixture against Slavia Prague. The French international has recently returned to full training following an extended spell on the sidelines and has travelled with the squad to the Czech capital.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that Saliba is ready to feature again, having already played 45 minutes in a behind-closed-doors session last week. Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhães have formed the regular centre-back partnership during Saliba’s absence, though the former may make way once the Frenchman is fully match-fit.
Arteta noted that Konsa offers versatility as a full-back option, but suggested the England international is more likely to assume a substitute role once Saliba reclaims his starting berth, potentially after the upcoming international break. The Gunners face Slavia Prague in Europe tomorrow before hosting Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday.
