Hampshire head coach Russell Domingo has left his position after less than a season in the role.
The 52-year-old South African took over from Adi Birrell last December on a two-year deal but has now departed after Hampshire were relegated from the top flight of the County Championship following 12 years in the division.
The Hawks reached the final of the T20 Blast, where they lost to Northamptonshire Steelbacks at Edgbaston, but failed to progress from the group stage of the One-Day Cup.
After the relegation in September, Domingo described the team as being in a transition period and said it needed a reset before returning to action next season.
Hampshire said the process of appointing a new head coach was under way.
“I would like to thank everyone at Hampshire Cricket for the opportunity to be part of the club over the past season,” former South Africa and Bangladesh coach Domingo said in a statement on the club website.
“Hampshire is a special club with a proud history, passionate supporters and a talented group of players and staff.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and valued the relationships I have built across the club.
“My focus is now on my coaching commitments in South Africa, and I leave knowing the club has a talented group of players and staff and a bright future ahead.”
