The United States announced a $20 million reward, with the possibility of relocation for witnesses, for information concerning Iran’s nuclear program, the U.S. military stated on Friday, while President Donald Trump said Tehran is keen to negotiate an end to the conflict.
The State Department’s Rewards for Justice program is offering up to $20 million and potential relocation for information about Iran’s nuclear program, including details on facilities, equipment, and individuals involved, such as members of the scientific community, according to U.S. Central Command’s statement on X.
Established in 1984, the program forms part of the State Department’s national security rewards initiative, which provides financial incentives for information that safeguards U.S. lives and interests.
The State Department noted that Iran’s failure to comply with IAEA safeguards obligations has caused the agency to lose continuity of knowledge about Iran’s production and inventory of critical items such as centrifuges.
No specific criteria were disclosed for the reward.
President Trump has repeatedly claimed that U.S. forces have effectively dismantled Iran’s nuclear program.
\”Had we not acted against Iran, Israel might not exist today,\” Trump said Friday night in West Palm Beach, Florida. \”If Iran possessed nuclear weapons, it would have employed them, potentially obliterating the Middle East.\”
However, the president added that Iran — whose economy and military have been severely weakened by eight months of war — is eager to reach a settlement.
\”We are currently dealing with them, and they desperately want to make a deal,\” he said.
Diplomatic mediators are intensifying their efforts to prevent any resurgence of hostilities.
On Tuesday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said his government continues to pursue a resolution through dialogue.
Earlier this week, Trump said he still needed to address one or two targets, including the so‑called Pickaxe Mountain in central Iran, which Tehran denies is a nuclear facility.
