Fernando Alonso has once again captivated onlookers in Monaco, showcasing another standout addition to his extraordinary automotive collection.
The two-time Formula 1 world champion was recently seen navigating the streets of Monte Carlo behind the wheel of a rare Porsche 918 Spyder.
Introduced in 2013, the 918 Spyder is a mid-engine plug-in hybrid. Its 4.6-litre V8 engine delivers 599 horsepower, bolstered by twin electric motors that contribute an additional 282 horsepower. With only 918 units ever produced, the model is a true collector’s item and holds the distinction of being the first production road car to lap the Nürburgring in under seven minutes. Current market valuations for the vehicle range between €1.8 million and €3 million.
Social media has been buzzing following the sighting, with one fan on X remarking that Alonso possesses a “Gran Turismo garage in Monaco.” Other enthusiasts praised the choice of vehicle, with some questioning the scale of the storage required to house such a vast and prestigious fleet.
The 918 Spyder completes a formidable lineup for the Spaniard. His collection reportedly includes the other two members of the “Holy Trinity” of hypercars—the McLaren P1 and the LaFerrari—alongside a unique Pagani Zonda 760 and a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Strassenversion.
Given his professional ties, the Aston Martin F1 driver also owns several models from the British manufacturer, including a bespoke Valkyrie, a Valiant, and both the DBX 707 and DBX S.
Alonso’s appearance coincides with the final preparations for the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix, with race branding already appearing across the principality.
The Silverstone-based team has struggled significantly during the start of the 2026 F1 season. Alonso currently occupies 22nd place in the drivers’ standings with zero points, trailing teammate Lance Stroll, who sits in 21st with the same score.
The Monaco Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from June 5-7.
