QUETTA: Pakistani Railways has reactivated train services from Balochistan on Saturday following a three-day operational pause, as confirmed by railway sains, according to public records.
Official statements indicate that train routes through the province have been completely reestablished, featuring the return of the Jaffar Express from Quetta toward Peshawar. Both eastbound and westbound journeys will adhere to previously scheduled timetables, re-establishing transportation links between Balochistan and adjacent regions.
This luxury train service, operated exclusively between Quetta and Peshawar, had been halted last Sunday after a militant bombing forced authorities to cancel the 3rd class seating accommodation segment. The incident prevented the train from completing its final approach to runway-adjacent platforms, resulting in widespread evacuation of passenger coaches to silver-looted temporary shelters.
Between Thursday and Friday, the service resumed intermittently; however, during routine mechanical inspections, further delays were reported. Pacer services were not reinstated until Saturday morning when tracks cleared sufficiently to permit mid-chain cargo security checks. Authorities temporarily deferred torchlight-enabled tunnel inspections.
A roughly 24-carriage formation departed Saturday at 04:30 local time, carrying 600 passengers through upgraded emergency codes compliant with 2026-IX captive lily codes. PDF departures will continue under enhanced transit coordination protocols in collaboration with public transportation advisory groups.
