Following their second consecutive Champions League victory in Budapest, Paris Saint-Germain returned home to the Parc des Princes to celebrate their historic achievement with thousands of supporters.
Fans described the victory as a legendary milestone for the club. “The first was for history, and the second is for the legend,” explained Tarek, a 42-year-old supporter.
Supporters attributed the success to a combination of seasoned experience and tactical brilliance. Marius, 14, credited manager Luis Enrique’s versatility, stating, “We won thanks to Luis Enrique’s strategy. He knows how to adapt, endure, and dominate. It is because of him that we achieved this historic double.”
Others highlighted the chemistry within the squad. Flore, 23, noted that the players operate like a family, describing the team’s bond as “beautiful and impressive.”
Celebrations Marred by Violence
While the night around the Parc des Princes was filled with fireworks, smoke bombs, and pyrotechnics, the festivities were clouded by widespread unrest. Despite heavy security measures, authorities reported numerous altercations with police across France.
Official figures indicate that over 890 people were arrested and 220 individuals were injured. Tragedies also struck on the Paris ring road, where a man died in a motocross accident. Furthermore, the Minister of the Interior reported that 178 police officers and gendarmes sustained injuries during the unrest.
During a reception for the players at the Elysée Palace, President Emmanuel Macron condemned the “unacceptable scenes of violence,” even as he described PSG’s title win as a source of “immense pride for the whole country.”
As the celebrations wind down, the club’s supporters are already looking toward next season, dreaming of a third consecutive title.
