Driven by a 53-year championship drought, the New York Knicks are seeing unprecedented demand for NBA Finals tickets, reflecting the immense market power of one of the league’s most valuable franchises.
According to data from the secondary marketplace TickPick, Game 3 between the Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs—scheduled for June 8 at Madison Square Garden—has become the most expensive NBA Finals game in the platform’s history. The average ticket price has climbed to $4,990, marking a significant jump from the $4,398 average recorded a week ago following New York’s sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The “get-in” price, or the lowest available ticket for Game 3, currently stands at $4,115. This represents a staggering 336% premium over the cheapest available seats for Game 1 in San Antonio, which are currently priced at $944.
Financial Impact and Ticket Trends
The financial windfall for Madison Square Garden is expected to be substantial, with reports suggesting the Knicks’ deep postseason run could generate at least $140 million in gross playoff revenue. Game 4, taking place on June 10 in New York, is now the second most expensive NBA Finals game on record via TickPick, with an average price of $4,842 and a minimum entry price of $3,680.
Overall, tickets for Games 3 and 4 at Madison Square Garden are approximately 150% more expensive than those for Games 1 and 2 at the Frost Bank Center. Interest in the series is further amplified by reports that President Donald Trump may attend the games in New York after expressing interest last month.
Despite the fever pitch in New York, the San Antonio Spurs remain the betting favorites (-198) to claim the title, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. San Antonio’s standout forward Victor Wembanyama, who has dominated the postseason with an average of over 23 points and nearly 11 rebounds per game, is the current favorite (-180) to be named NBA Finals MVP.
