Columbus Clippers 9, Omaha Storm Chasers 8
The Columbus Clippers improved to 32-25 on Tuesday, powered by a potent offensive attack that produced nine runs on 11 hits and 10 walks. Juan Brito spearheaded the effort, turning in a 3-for-4 performance with a walk and three runs scored. Bo Naylor also delivered a standout game, finishing 1-for-2 with a three-run home run, three walks, and a stolen base, while Angel Genao added a home run in a 2-for-5 outing.
Additional offensive contributions came from Cooper Ingle, who doubled and walked; Nolan Jones, who went 2-for-5 with a double; George Valera, who went 1-for-4 with a walk and a steal; and C.J. Kayfus, who drew three walks. On the mound, Daniel Espino served as the opener, allowing two runs on one hit (a home run) and one walk with two strikeouts over one inning. Rorik Maltrud followed, surrendering four runs on eight hits while striking out seven over 4.0 innings. Tommy Mace and Jack Leftwich each provided 2.0 innings of relief, allowing one run apiece to secure the victory.
Akron RubberDucks 12, Bowie Baysox 15
Despite a massive offensive showing that saw 12 runs on 14 hits, the RubberDucks fell to 28-24 due to pitching and defensive struggles. Jaison Chourio delivered one of the most impressive games of his career, going 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBIs. Nick Mitchell reached base three times (2-for-4 with a walk), while Jacob Cozart and Wuilfredo Antunez both launched home runs. In his Double-A debut, Luke Hill went 2-for-5 with a run scored, though he struggled defensively with two errors at second base. Alex Mooney also contributed two hits in five at-bats.
The pitching staff struggled to contain Bowie. Starter Khal Stephen surrendered eight runs (five earned) on 10 hits over 4.2 innings with one strikeout. Carter Rustad followed, allowing six runs—none of which were earned—across 2.0 innings.
Lake County Captains 5, Fort Wayne TinCaps 6
The Captains dropped to 5-6 following a narrow loss. Nolan Schubart highlighted the offense with a 2-for-4 day, including his 10th home run of the season. Tommy Hawke also recorded a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a stolen base, and Bennet Thompson added a home run. Dean Curley finished 1-for-3 with a walk.
Starting pitcher Franklin Gomez tossed 5.0 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits with six strikeouts and two walks. Logan McGuire gave up one run in 1.1 innings, and Cam Schuelke took the loss after allowing a game-tying run in the bottom of the ninth, capping off a 2.1-inning appearance.
Hill City Howlers 2, Fredericksburg Nationals 3
The Howlers fell to 25-27 after a late-inning collapse. Juneiker Caceres and Ty Howard both went 2-for-4 with doubles, while Johan Rodriguez added a home run and a walk in a 1-for-3 performance. The squad continues to wait for the return of key injured talent, specifically Gabriel Rodriguez.
Penn State product Ryan DeSanto turned in a strong start, allowing just one run on one hit with seven strikeouts over 4.0 innings, though he struggled with control, walking five. Miguel Flores provided 3.2 scoreless frames with four strikeouts, but Luke Fernandez was unable to hold the lead, surrendering two runs in the bottom of the ninth to allow a walk-off win for the Nationals.
ACL Guardians 13, ACL Cubs 6
The ACL Guardians improved to 15-9 behind a scorching start from 19-year-old Venezuelan prospect Alejandro Blasco. After a strong debut on May 30, Blasco continued his tear on Tuesday, going 2-for-2 with a home run, a double, and a walk. His OPS currently sits at a staggering 3.500 over his first two games. Rehabilitation assignments also saw Gabriel Rodriguez go 1-for-3 with two walks and Welbyn Francisca go 1-for-4 with two walks and a stolen base.
Other offensive highlights included Gustavo Baptista (2-for-4, double, two steals), Angel Abreu (3-for-5, double), Randy Martinez (1-for-2, two walks, one steal), and Estivel Morillo (2-for-5, double). On the mound, rehabbing Yorman Gomez tossed 2.0 shutout innings with four strikeouts and one walk, while Evan Chrest added a perfect inning with two strikeouts.
