Lord of the Rings 25th‑Anniversary Celebration Announces Elijah Wood for CCXP26

The iconic Lord of the Rings film series is gearing up for a 25‑year milestone celebration that will bring together fans worldwide.

Elijah Wood, the actor who first portrayed Frodo Baggins, has been confirmed as the inaugural guest for CCXP26, slated for December 3‑6 in São Paulo, Brazil. The event’s “Fellowship Forever” theme will feature Wood on panels both December 3 and 4, with photo and autograph sessions scheduled each day.

Wood was just 20 when he premiered as Frodo in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, released on December 19, 2001. The film, which also starred Ian McKellen, Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortensen, Sean Astin, Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom, launched Peter Jackson’s trilogy that went on to earn $2.9 billion worldwide and collect 17 Academy Awards.

“CCXP has a tradition of celebrating major pop‑culture milestones with the people who lived them,” said CCXP vice‑president of content Roberto Fabri. “In 2025 we marked the 20th anniversary of Supernatural. In 2026 we honor The Lord of the Rings turning 25, and there’s no better way to start than with Frodo himself. Elijah Wood at CCXP26 is exactly the announcement fans have been waiting for.”

Beyond Middle‑earth, Wood’s résumé includes roles in Sin City, Happy Feet, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, as well as television work on Wilfred and Yellowjackets.

Last year’s CCXP featured a viral moment when Timothée Chalamet danced to “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” while promoting his film Marty Supreme.

The 2025 edition also showcased a Supernatural reunion, conversations with stars such as Kathryn Newton, Selton Mello and The Lord of the Rings alumnus Dominic Monaghan, and panels for titles including It: Welcome to Derry, The Boys, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Anaconda, The Secret Agent and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
