The WWE Creative Chief has suggested that the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns, will miss the upcoming Night of Champions pay‑per‑view scheduled for June 27 in Saudi Arabia.
Roman Reigns, who has served as WWE’s top figure for the past years, has regularly appeared on weekly programs and pay‑per‑views throughout 2026, following his 2025 Royal Rumble win and subsequent capture of the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42.
After defeating CM Punk in 2025, Reigns’s first challenger was Jacob Fatu. Fatu attempted to dethrone the champion at both Backlash and Clash in Italy, but was unsuccessful on both occasions. With Fatu now acknowledging Reigns as his Tribal Chief, speculation has risen about who will step to the challenge next. However, recent reports confirm Reigns will not travel to the Saudi Arabia event.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter mentioned that Reigns has had his TV dates pulled in June because he will not be present on the Night of Champions pay‑per‑view:
Regarding Roman Reigns being pulled from June TV dates that were announced, the reason we were told is that he’s not going to be on the Saudi Arabia PPV and thus there was no reason to do the TV’s building that show
Triple H appeared to confirm these rumors on X, sharing the official poster for Night of Champions 2026 that showcases top wrestlers such as Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, and Trick Williams. Reigns is notably absent from the poster, further suggesting his absence from the event. In the same post, Triple H added:
With it all on the line… @WWE Night of Champions will be LIVE Saturday, June 27 at 1pm ET. Stream on @espn app in the US / @netflix internationally.

WWE announced on RAW that Reigns will return to the main roster next Monday, but how his appearance will affect the storylines remains to be seen.
