Manchester United have shown strong interest in Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba.
United first approached Baleba last summer, but Brighton’s £100 million valuation proved too high.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that United reached an agreement on personal terms with Baleba, a deal that remains valid for this summer.
Carlos Baleba Talks with Manchester United Players
Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba remains eager to join Manchester United.
The Sun reports that Baleba has spoken with several Manchester United players about a possible transfer.
The 22‑year‑old said he spoke with Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha after their 3‑0 win at the Amex on the final day of the season.
Cunha has previously supported Baleba, having faced him twice while playing for Wolves,” the report adds.
Baleba is also believed to be close with fellow Cameroonian Bryan Mbeumo, and teammate Andre Onana encouraged him to pursue a move to United last year before his loan to Trabzonspor.
Brighton Stays Firm on Baleba Valuation
The former Lille prodigy, famed for his athleticism, impressed against United in May, but his previous attempt to join Old Trafford proved challenging.
Brighton coach Fabian Hürzeler noted that there may be some noise in his mind regarding United’s interest, and the youngster received only 23 Premier League starts last season.

Nevertheless, Brighton is unlikely to lower its asking price, making a serious move by United this summer improbable.
It is understood that, despite United’s interest, Brighton believes Baleba will stay at the club.
