The fire has crossed into Teo municipality, complicating coordination across two jurisdictions. Authorities report the hamlet of Cruxeiras de Abaixo was evacuated after identifying ten residences at immediate risk, with re-entry still prohibited as of 20:00.
Weather Conditions Impede Containment
Despite apparent stabilization Saturday morning, temperatures surpassing 30°C combined with strong winds have reignited hotspots. Regional mayor Anxo Rei Arca notes, “Wind patterns have intensified unpredictably,” exacerbating spread.
Reinforced operations now involve 112 emergency services, forestry units, water tankers, and aerial assets including amphibious aircraft deployed by the Ministry for Ecological Transition.
Traffic restrictions on Corcacía-Padrón and Vilar do Bispo-Lampai routes have been enacted to ensure responder safety.
No Casualties Reported, Elevated Alert Remains
Current assessments confirm no injuries or structural damage, though heightened risk persists near populated zones. The regional Rural Affairs Department has enforced Level 2 emergency protocols as precautionary measures.
This incident aligns with Galicia’s heightened fire season concerns. The regional 2026 wildfire control strategy targets under 29,207 total hectares burned annually—a threshold already threatened by this single event.
