India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah remained in the spotlight off the field after a lighthearted encounter with photographers at the airport. The Mumbai Indians star was spotted with his wife, sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan, and their son Angad, where a friendly exchange with paparazzi garnered attention online.
Bumrah is currently enjoying a break following IPL 2026 and has been rested from India’s ODI series against Afghanistan as part of workload management. While the Indian team has started the three-match series strongly, the 32-year-old fast bowler is prioritising family time ahead of India’s upcoming tour of England.
Jasprit Bumrah’s amusing airport moment resonates with fans
Upon arriving at the airport with his family, photographers captured images as the couple and their child entered the terminal. Before posing, Bumrah respectfully requested they refrain from photographing his wife and child. The photographers complied, prompting Sanjana to express her gratitude.
Bumrah briefly paused to pose for cameras, sporting a casual black oversized T-shirt, trousers, shoes, and a cap. The experienced bowler then engaged playfully with the photographers, jokingly inquiring who they were waiting for. He further lightened the mood by advising them to relax rather than standing outside airports early in the day.
“Subeh subeh aaram karo, naashta karo,” Bumrah said with a smile.
The charming interaction quickly spread across social media, earning praise from fans who celebrated the fast bowler’s affable personality and humour.

Bumrah takes break after demanding IPL campaign
The cricketer was absent from India’s ODI squad for the ongoing series against Afghanistan, receiving a well-deserved rest after a demanding IPL season. The move also ensures his readiness for India’s anticipated white-ball tour of England next month. The second ODI against Afghanistan is scheduled for June 17 in Lucknow, featuring players like Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, and Rashid Khan.
IPL 2026 proved to be one of Bumrah’s most challenging seasons. Representing Mumbai Indians, the right-arm pace bowler claimed just four wickets in 13 matches—a marked decline from his usual standards. He concluded the tournament with an average of 102.50 and an economy rate of 8.36.
Mumbai Indians also struggled, finishing ninth on the leaderboard with four victories from 14 matches. Despite the team’s disappointing performance, Bumrah remains among the world’s premier fast bowlers and is expected to return stronger in international cricket.
