GRAMMY-nominated music producer Brytavious Chambers, known professionally as Tay Keith, has died. He was 29.
Chambers was found dead Thursday in his Nashville apartment by officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department. The department confirmed the discovery occurred during a welfare check and stated that no foul play is suspected. The cause of death remains unclassified pending autopsy results.
Keith earned widespread recognition for his production work on Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode,” which earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Song in 2019. The track appeared on Scott’s album “Astroworld.” He received a second nomination in the same category in 2023 for his work on Drake and 21 Savage’s “Rich Flex” from their collaborative album “Her Loss.”
Tay Keith Also Worked With Eminem, Beyoncé And Jennifer Lopez
born Brytavious Lakeith Chambers on September 20, 1996, in Memphis, Tennessee, Keith first achieved mainstream success with his production on BlocBoy JB’s 2018 viral hit “Rover.”
Beyond his high-profile work with Drake and Travis Scott, Keith collaborated with numerous established artists. He produced Eminem’s “Not Alike” featuring Royce da 5’9″ from the 2018 album “Kamikaze.” In 2019, he worked with Frankie Beverly and Beyoncé on her cover of “Before I Let Go” for the “Homecoming” concert film. Keith also produced DJ Khaled’s 2019 hit “Wish Wish” featuring Cardi B and 21 Savage, as well as “Jealous” with Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Big Sean. His later work included DJ Khaled’s 2021 single “I Did It” featuring Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby and DaBaby. In 2024, he contributed to Jennifer Lopez’s album “This Is Me … Now,” which accompanied her Prime Video musical film of the same name.
