Eric Andre may have suffered one of the most brutal-looking celebrity beatdowns on WWE Raw this year, but John Cena insists the comedian couldn’t have been more thrilled with the experience.
The incident occurred on the June 15 episode of Raw, where Andre appeared at ringside to promote Little Brother, his upcoming Netflix comedy co-starring Cena.
Although the segment quickly descended into chaos, Andre’s post-show reaction tells a strikingly different story.
Cena Recounts Andre’s Ecstatic Response to WWE Debut
Speaking on Adam’s Apple, Cena reflected on his co-star’s first WWE appearance and revealed just how much Andre embraced the wrestling world.
“My castmate and little brother, Eric Andre, just got his first WWE appearance a few nights ago. He’s like, ‘Man, it was the best thing of my life,'” Cena said.
Cena made the remarks while discussing his acting career and the unique energy of performing before a live audience. He noted that WWE’s atmosphere is unlike any other and suggested Andre instantly connected with that intensity.
On Raw, Andre found himself caught in the middle of Bloodline business. Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Jacob Fatu opened the show before brief tension surfaced within the faction. After Reigns officially welcomed Fatu into The Bloodline with an Ula Fala, the group crossed paths with Andre at ringside.
The interaction took a violent turn when Andre touched Fatu’s Ula Fala. Fatu responded by dragging the comedian into the ring and delivering a vicious assault at Reigns’ discretion. The segment ended with Andre absorbing two crushing splashes from “The Samoan Werewolf.”
While the attack looked devastating on television, Andre apparently viewed it as a career highlight rather than a painful memory. In wrestling parlance, he may have taken a beating, but he certainly didn’t take a loss.
The appearance also shone a spotlight on Little Brother, which premieres on Netflix on June 26, while further establishing Fatu as one of WWE’s most dangerous forces heading into the summer.
