Ripple and Water.org have formed a strategic partnership to enhance global water accessibility through blockchain technology. As part of this collaboration, Matt Damon, actor and founder of Water.org, will address Ripple’s 2026 Swell conference, an annual summit uniting finance and technology leaders to explore institutional crypto adoption.
The partnership enables Water.org to utilize Ripple’s payment solutions for its Get Blue water campaign, which provides microloans and infrastructure funding to underserved communities across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. By integrating Ripple USD (RLUSD), the NPO gains a stablecoin tailored for humanitarian logistics, supported by institutional partners like Starbucks and Amazon. To date, Water.org reports facilitating $7.7 billion in blockchain-based payments for water and sanitation projects through this alliance.
Swell, Ripple’s flagship event since 2017, explores crypto’s role in reshaping global payment systems and fostering cross-border collaboration. At the conference, Damon will emphasize how Ripple’s tools have streamlined operations for Water.org’s WaterCredit program and infrastructure projects via WaterEquity.
A Twitter post from Ripple Swell confirms Damon’s participation: “Matt Damon, co-founder of @Water, is coming to Swell — October 27-29 in NYC. He’s going to tell you how @Water is leveraging Ripple Payments and $RLUSD to accelerate money movement and drive…” The tweet highlights the theme of reshaping financial systems to address humanitarian challenges.
