A new young‑adult thriller romance from Mercedes Ron, the creator of the popular Guilty trilogy, now has a release date and a teaser. Prime Video has released the first clip from Faced: Ivory (also known as “Drawn Together”), adapting the opening chapter of the bestselling duology.
The short video introduces the main characters and hints at higher stakes than Ron’s earlier adaptations, blending an intense romance with kidnapping, mystery, and danger across two continents.
What Faced: Ivory Is About
Marfil Cortés, the daughter of a powerful Spanish business magnate, appears to lead a perfect life in New York until she is abducted and released under mysterious circumstances. Her father hires the guarded and enigmatic Sebastian Moore as her personal bodyguard.
Despite Marfil’s fierce independence and Sebastian’s professional distance, the two are drawn together. As the story shifts from New York to Spain, threats multiply and the world around them becomes far more complicated than either expected.
Ester Expósito (Venus, Elite) portrays Marfil Cortés, opposite Hugo Diego García (The Substance) as Sebastian Moore.
The supporting cast includes Eric Masip (Through My Window) as Iván, Pablo Molinero (A Private Affair) as Alejandro, Zoe Bonafonte (The 47) as Gabriela, Lluís Homar (Broken Hugs) as Logan, and Joaquín Ferreira (Ravens Club) as Ray.
Oscar Pedraza (Patria, Live Without Permission) directs from a screenplay by Sofía Cuenca (Your Fault, Our Fault).
The Ron Effect
Ron’s Wattpad‑originated young‑adult novels have become a global streaming force. The Guilty trilogy, based on her New York Times bestselling books, has been watched by over 100 million viewers in more than 170 countries, with the majority of the audience outside Spain.
That success secured a multi‑title deal with Prime Video, known as the “House of Ron,” covering ten book‑to‑screen adaptations. So far it has produced the Guilty trilogy, the film Tell Me Softly (the first entry in the “Tell Me” series), and the English‑language spinoff My Fault: London. Your Fault: London is slated for 2026.
Speaking at Prime Video’s International Originals London showcase, Ron said, “It’s been amazing. We’ve been working for three years now, and I feel that Amazon trusts me and I can trust them. Amazon really loves these YA stories, understands the fandom and respects it, which is why people say Amazon is making the best book adaptations.”
Spanish‑Language Content Fuels Prime Video’s International Push
The upcoming release reflects Amazon MGM Studios’ broader commitment to non‑English language content. At the London showcase, Kelly Day, VP of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios International, cited the Guilty numbers as proof that local stories can achieve massive global reach.
Prime Video now offers subtitles in more than 30 languages and dubbing in 22 languages, available in 240 countries and territories.
Nicole Clemens, VP of International Originals, announced an expansion of the House of Ron partnership, confirming development of 30 Sunsets to Make You Fall in Love, the first U.S. adaptation of Ron’s Bali series.
A sequel, Faced: Ebony, adapting the second half of the duology, has already been announced.
Faced: Ivory (Drawn Together) premieres exclusively on Prime Video on September 9 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
