ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Russia affirmed their commitment to unified counterterrorism efforts during a high-level meeting, emphasizing regional security challenges posed by Afghanistan.
This agreement was finalized at the 12th Joint Working Group on Countering International Terrorism session, where both nations pledged to enhance collaborative security measures and intelligence sharing.
The dialogue, co-led by Ambassador Muhammad Khalid Khan Jamali (Additional Secretary at Pakistan’s Foreign Affairs Ministry) and Dmytriy Lyubinsky (Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia), analyzed cross-border threats and security implications.
Discussions centered on mitigating terrorist activities originating from Afghanistan that impact neighboring countries, reinforcing mutual security frameworks.
