The German national team will be without Nathaniel Brown for their final Group E World Cup match against Ecuador, as the left-back has been ruled out due to muscular issues.
Reports from Sky Germany indicate that Brown missed the team’s final training session on Wednesday morning.
Head coach Julian Nagelsmann oversaw the session prior to the squad’s departure for the New York/New Jersey encounter with the South American side.
Brown instead engaged in a light running routine under the supervision of athletic coach Krunoslav Banovcic.
While concerns over his fitness arose, they pale in comparison to the tournament-ending injury sustained by teammate Nico Schlotterbeck earlier in the competition.
Germany has secured reliable cover in defense, with RB Leipzig’s David Raum prepared to replace Brown in the starting lineup.
