Nearly 7 million people may have been affected by the twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela this week, according to United Nations figures released Saturday, as the death toll approached 1,000 and tens of thousands remained missing. The UN reported that up to 6.76 million individuals could have been impacted, including approximately two million residents of the capital, Caracas.
