Mick Foley remains open to the possibility of one final WrestleMania moment, though the 61-year-old legend emphasized that a return to the ring is not imminent.
Foley discussed the concept during a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, later clarifying to Going Ringside that fans may have misinterpreted his comments. Currently in improved health following significant weight loss and joint replacement surgeries, Foley stated he would need to achieve peak physical condition before considering another match.
“I had this great, 30-minute conversation with Ariel Helwani,” Foley said. “He asked me about the possibility of one more match. I said, ‘Hey, you never know.’ I did say, ‘If the stars are aligned.’ But we have to see how the stars align, and I’d have to be in really good shape and feel like I could have a match that wouldn’t disappoint people.”
The former WWE icon has lost over 100 pounds and undergone hip and knee replacements, dramatically improving his mobility. However, any potential return would require careful structuring to protect his surgical improvements and minimize head trauma given his history of concussions.
Foley, who debuted with AEW at Double or Nothing 2026 as a preshow co-host, mentioned Darby Allin as a dream opponent for any potential return. “I pointed out to Darby that I am on record as saying he would be a dream opponent,” Foley noted. “You never know what the future may bring. I’m down a lot of weight, but my cardio is suspect at best. And I’d still have to lose another 30 pounds just to be in poor condition. So we’ll see if there’s some changes in the next year.”
In his current AEW role, Foley continues as a preshow co-host and has appeared in pre-recorded segments, including a recent tribute to Owen Hart’s legacy. He expressed interest in expanding his involvement through on-screen management roles and media appearances to promote the product.
