Police have charged a young man and his accomplice for allegedly raping an orphaned boy at gunpoint and filming the assault in Bhakkar.
According to the FIR, identified as K, a resident of Chandani Chowk in Bhakkar, and his associate S, lured eighth‑grade student H, an orphan, to a secluded hut where K raped the boy while threatening him with a firearm.
The perpetrator also recorded a video of the attack and warned the victim that he would be killed if he disclosed the incident. The boy later confided in his uncle, Zaman, who reported the crime to the Chandani Chowk police.
Acting on the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 376(iii) and 292 of the Pakistan Penal Code and began an investigation.
FIVE BOOKED: Jhal Chakian police have apprehended five individuals for allegedly murdering a young man over a longstanding feud in Chak 74 NB.
According to the FIR, armed suspects — including Ikram, Hasnain, Mushtaq and two unidentified accomplices — shot and killed Mudassar Haider due to old enmity before fleeing the scene.
The victim’s body was transferred to a hospital for post‑mortem examination, and police continue their investigation.
FIRE: A blaze erupted in a Sargodha residence after an electrical short circuit in a UPS system destroyed household belongings. Sources say the occupants of Bismillah Homes were away when the fire started, reducing possessions to ashes.
Rescue 1122 firefighters contained the fire.
EIGHT INJURED: At least eight people were hurt when two trucks collided on the Sargodha‑Jhang highway.
Police reported that a Mazda truck travelling from Bhakkar to Sargodha struck another truck heading from Faisalabad to Mianwali at Dadan Chowk, leaving eight occupants injured and taken to hospital.
Officers arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.
BISE BUDGET: The Sargodha Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) adopted a surplus budget of Rs 2.922 billion for FY 2026‑27.
The board allocated Rs 2.322 billion for operational expenses, Rs 784 million for administration, Rs 797 million for other operating costs, Rs 39 million for advance grants to employees’ families, Rs 12 million for student stipends and medals, Rs 1.9 million for entertainment, Rs 1.96 million for staff loan advances, and Rs 36 million for computer hardware and IT equipment.
Additionally, BISE approved Rs 472 million to conduct matriculation and intermediate examinations, Rs 0.8 million for contingency expenses, Rs 200 million for store purchases, Rs 7.1 million for miscellaneous expenses, Rs 280 million for pension contributions and security benefits, and Rs 2.7 million for staff hired on deputation.
An amount of Rs 15.136 million was set aside for office renovation, Rs 6.267 million for staff housing, Rs 6 million for general building repairs, Rs 65.7 million for ongoing construction projects, and Rs 153.17 million for new building developments.
