Duffy staged a live performance at a secret London venue, marking her first headlining concert in over 15 years.
The Welsh singer performed at Hoxton Hall on Sunday, July 5, presenting a select audience with an intimate set that blended fan favorites and new material.
One attendee took to social media to praise her vocal talent, writing, “That voice is insane!” and highlighting her energetic rendition of the classic “Warwick Avenue,” a track she first teased back in June.
In a June post, Duffy hinted, “I’m doing a secret intimate gig in London on the 5th July, next month, and I would love nothing more than for some of you to attend. It’s only small capacity so we can only select a few, but really looking forward to it. I will sing some new songs.” Tickets were allocated via a fan ballot, and the venue remained undisclosed until the night of the show.
The secret concert signals Duffy’s return to the spotlight after a lengthy hiatus. In 2020, she disclosed being drugged, kidnapped, and sexually assaulted—an experience that led to depression and caused her to step away from the industry.
The London show also coincides with indications that Duffy is preparing a new studio album, as she expressed enthusiasm about reconnecting with fans through fresh music.
“If only I could find the right words to explain how much I’ve missed you all,” she captioned a May Instagram photo from a recording studio, adding, “Working on coming back to you.”
She first rose to fame with the 2008 debut album *Rockferry*, which earned the 2009 Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album and garnered Duffy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Mercy.” Her most recent studio album, *Endlessly*, was released in 2010.
Disney+ announced that a Hulu Original documentary focusing on Duffy’s life and career is currently in production.
