Soybeans Close Higher as Export Sales and Crop Progress Offer Support ]

Soybeans climbed 2 to 9¾ cents in late Tuesday trading as the July contract gained 14½ cents to $11.96¾. Nearby cash bean prices rose 10¼ cents to $11.46. Soy meal futures advanced $2.30 to $3.40 across most contracts, while soy oil traded 32 to 83 points higher.

In export news, USDA confirmed a private sale of 105,000 metric tons of soybean meal to Colombia for the current marketing year. On the supply side, USDA’s NASS reported 34% of the U.S. soybean crop blooming by July 5—6 percentage points above the 5-year average—with 9% setting pods, 3 points ahead of normal. Condition ratings slipped 1% to 64% of production rated good/excellent, though the Brugler500 index held steady at 365. Regional conditions varied, with North Dakota and Ohio seeing deterioration, while Missouri, South Dakota, and Minnesota posted improvements.

Government data showed May soybean exports totaled 2.57 million metric tons (94.42 million bushels), 72% above last year and representing the second-highest May on record. Soy meal exports reached a record 1.572 million tons in May, slightly below April levels but 19% higher than 2025.
