Following the conclusion of his contentious legal dispute with Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni has broken his silence, sharing a video with his wife Emily on Instagram. The couple expressed their resilience and gratitude amid the two-year battle that originated from their collaboration on the 2024 adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s “It Ends with Us.”
It Ends with Us director and star Justin Baldoni, alongside his wife Emily, acknowledged the emotional toll the legal battle has taken on their family. In the video, Justin noted that while they have had much to say, they hesitated to speak publicly due to the intensity of the situation. Emily reflected on the challenges of reconciling the conflict while navigating the impact on their family structure and personal well-being.
“We have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years, and it’s not because we haven’t had anything to say, because Lord knows we have,” Justin began in the video. “We’ve had to wrestle with so many things and try to understand how something like this could happen, let alone be disguised as a fight for women. There’s been so much trauma for us to move through as a family.”
The couple emphasized that their faith, community support, and fan discernment helped them endure. Justin added, “There have been so many painful things that have been spoken into existence over the last couple of years, creating so much noise. We didn’t want to contribute to that. We just wanted to let the justice system run its course.”

The Baldonis expressed appreciation for their supporters who advocated for discernment during their silence. Justin reflected on the healing process, noting that trauma recovery is not linear. He emphasized that their family, faith, and community have been central to their resilience. “When God presses the reset button and everything else is stripped away, that’s when love shows up. We feel so loved,” he added.
While Emily acknowledged that there is “so much more to say,” she confirmed their current focus will be on healing and prioritizing family time. Legal representatives for Wayfarer Studios have until July 13 to respond to Blake Lively’s claim for over $8 million in legal fees, following a federal judge’s ruling.
