Security Forces Eliminate Four Terrorists in Coordinated Operation Along Karak-Kohat Border

Four terrorists were neutralized during a joint intelligence-driven operation in the Khattak Dam region near the border between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak and Kohat districts, police reported.

A statement from Karak police revealed that actionable intelligence regarding terrorist presence in the area prompted an early morning operation involving Kohat police forces at approximately 5 a.m.

“The operation took a dramatic turn when terrorists engaged law enforcement personnel in crossfire, leading to a decisive police retaliation,” the statement read.

An intense exchange of fire resulted in the deaths of four terrorists affiliated with the ‘Commander Zahid Group,’ a faction reportedly linked to multiple attacks on security personnel, police officials confirmed.

Following the operation, a comprehensive search was launched, with the area cordoned off to verify identities and criminal histories of the deceased, while investigators gather further intelligence.

Karak police reiterated their commitment to dismantling militant networks and restoring peace, emphasizing continued aggressive operations against terrorist elements.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the police for thwarting “India-sponsored terrorist” plans, asserting that security forces remain steadfast in eradicating terrorism from the province.

The Centre for Research and Security Studies’ Annual Security Report 2025 indicates a marked increase in violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with fatalities rising from 1,620 in 2024 to 2,331 in 2025.
