Defending champion Jannik Sinner delivered a commanding performance to defeat Novak Djokovic, ending his pursuit of a historic 25th Grand Slam title and securing a place in the Wimbledon final against Alexander Zverev.
Demonstrating the same intensity that led him to this stage last year, Sinner combined aggressive play and tactical precision to thwart Djokovic’s attempt to match Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon men’s singles titles.
Sinner maintained his serve dominance, failing to concede a break point until deep into the third set, before saving Djokovic’s sole opportunity with an ace and closing out the match 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
The world number one, and first Italian to reach multiple Wimbledon men’s finals, sealed victory with a love-service game before exchanging a respectful embrace with Djokovic at the net.
The triumph marked Sinner’s 99th Grand Slam match win, advancing him to his seventh major final following Zverev’s elimination of British wildcard Arthur Fery.
“This is the most special tournament we have. Playing another final here means a lot to me,” Sinner said.
“Competing against Novak is always inspiring – not just for the current generation, but for what he continues to achieve at the highest level. Our matches are consistently intense, and I’m proud of this performance.”
Djokovic, who exited the court amid enthusiastic applause, remains one Grand Slam title away from surpassing Margaret Court’s all-time record of 24 major singles championships.
