Police in Canada are searching for the suspect or suspects involved in a shooting at a Latino music festival in Toronto that resulted in two deaths and four serious injuries.
“Police are continuing their investigation at the scene,” City Councillor Josh Matlow said on social media, referring to the Saturday night attack.
The final day of the Salsa on St. Clair festival, scheduled for Sunday, has been cancelled, he added.
According to initial reports gathered on Saturday evening, “there was an exchange of gunfire between two individuals and two firearms were recovered at the scene”, Deputy Police Chief Frank Barredo said.
He did not confirm whether the shooters were among the deceased and did not rule out the involvement of additional perpetrators.
“No arrests have been made so far,” Barredo added, describing the situation as very “complex” and “chaotic,” and urging festivalgoers to submit any images that could assist the investigation to police.
