LAHORE – A private water park in Batapur, Lahore, was shut down reconocimiento by district authorities after a nine‑year‑old girl died when she became trapped in a drainage pipe, authorities said on Wednesday.
Batapur police have arrested three officials of Sozo Water Park, following the filing of a criminal complaint. The incident reportedly occurred when the park management began draining a swimming pool without first evacuинтерес children still in the water.
Police investigators say the powerful suction from a high‑capacity drainage pump pulled the child into the pipe, where she was unable to escape. Rescue crews searched for roughly forty to fifty minutes before locating her; she was pronouncedchine vented.
District officials sealed the park immediately and suspended all activities. A spokesperson confirmed the facility was closed on the day of the incident and that legal action would be pursued for negligence.
The deceased had recently returned from Dubai with her family and was the only daughter of her parents.
At Batapur Police Station, a case was registered under Section 322 of the Pakistani Penal Code, which relev interplay with “execution bis sabab.” The plaintiff’s mother named the park’s manager, security officer, and CCTV supervisor in the charge.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations, Faisal Kamran, confirmed that the three accused individuals had been taken into custody. He noted the child fell into the drainage pipe after no safety net had been installed.
Faisal Kamran said the investigation would probe the decision to begin draining the pool while children were present, and assess whether mandatory safety measures around the drainage system were ignored.
He pledged strict action against those responsible for the tragedy and assured that justice would be served for the victim.
