On the third night of her five‑show residency at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Ariana Grande welcomed a special guest to join her on the Eternal Sunshine Tour. As she performed “Safety Net” during Act III, Ty Dolla $ign made a surprise entrance wearing a leather jacket and pants, prompting an immediate roar from the audience.
The duo delivered a duet of the collaboration, which appears on Grande’s sixth studio album, Positions. “Safety Net” debuted at number 52 on the Billboard Hot 100 after the album’s October 2020 release.
Following the performance, Ty shouted, “The queen, Ari. Love you, thank you!” He later teased a future collaboration by captioning an Instagram Stories screenshot of Grande’s finale during “Supernatural” with “to be continued…..”.
Grande is set to return to Barclays Center for shows on July 18 and 19 to close out her Brooklyn residency before moving to Boston for a three‑night run at TD Garden.
The Grammy winner launched the Eternal Sunshine tour last month in Oakland in support of her seventh studio album of the same name. It marks her first headlining tour since 2019, with the setlist centered on the new record and including a few classics such as three songs from Positions and two each from Dangerous Woman, My Everything, and thank u, next.
