Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca continues to harbour ambitions of mounting a double transfer swoop for his former club Chelsea’s Enzo Fernández and Malo Gusto.

At present, neither transfer is progressing, but reliable sources indicate that the situation could evolve rapidly.

Fernández and Gusto both enjoyed impressive World Cup campaigns and are currently on a pre‑season break, yet they remain high on City’s agenda, with renewed contact expected soon.

The main obstacle, however, is the price tag. Reports suggest Chelsea are asking around £120 m, while City would prefer a fee just under £100 m, which could be more than the £116 m they paid for Anderson.
