In 2024, Zuraitis earned the Grammy for best vocal jazz album with an all-original record—a rarity in jazz. Her latest work, *the devil i knew*, expands this achievement into a 20-track journey divided into five thematic sections.
During *Jazz Night in America*, Zuraitis discusses the album’s core themes: confronting roles as a martyr, introspection, and accountability. She emphasizes that the work transcends her personal narrative, aiming to spark reflection in listeners.
“The focus isn’t on my experience,” Zuraitis clarifies. “It’s about what resonates or what the listener needs to hear.”
