Digital assets are under discussion as a potential remedy for the investment challenges facing K‑content, and legislators have expressed interest in how digital finance can support the sector.
Lee Jae‑jung, chair of the National Assembly’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, stated during the Digital Finance and K‑Content Innovation Seminar at the FKI Tower in Yeouido on July 24 that while K‑content represents a promising growth area, practitioners in the industry are still insufficiently compensated.
She expressed confidence that digital finance could offer a viable solution.
Lee cautioned that digital finance alone cannot resolve every issue, but emphasized that the National Assembly will keep deliberating and work toward creating an institutional framework to guide the sector in the right direction.
The seminar was organized by Korea Digital Asset Valuation and Certification.
In his keynote address, Park Chang‑beom, director of Korea Digital Asset Valuation and Certification, noted that although K‑content has become a global industry, it continues to confront challenges such as securing production financing and ensuring equitable distribution of intellectual property revenue.
He suggested that stablecoins, fiat‑pegged digital assets, and tokenization of real‑world assets could facilitate more transparent connections between industry participants and investors.
