Nic Scourton’s 2026 season has ended due to a season-ending injury. The Panthers announced on Friday that Scourton has been placed on injured reserve after sustaining a right knee injury during training camp. Initial reports suggested a torn ACL, though the team has not officially confirmed the specifics.
During his rookie season in 2025, Scourton recorded five sacks for Carolina. The team is now seeking to replace him on defense by integrating Cam Gill, the 2026 UFL defensive player of the year, who previously earned 11 sacks during his college soccer season.
In addition to addressing defensive needs, the Panthers have signed offensive tackle Derrell Bailey, an undrafted player from Georgia State, and waived guard Joshua Gray to adjust their roster accordingly.
