The new firm will augment the existing investment, commercial, and residential divisions, forming a fully integrated, multidisciplinary operation.
London‑based Robert Irving Burns has introduced RIB Private Finance, a specialist real‑estate finance advisory, to address the equity shortfall confronting £33 billion (≈ $44 billion) of commercial loans set to mature in 2026. This sizable wave of maturities is being refinanced amid persistently higher interest rates, reduced loan‑to‑value limits, and repriced asset valuations.
RIB Private Finance will also bolster the firm’s existing investment, commercial, and residential units, delivering a fully integrated, multidisciplinary platform, the company said in a statement.
Adam Jaffe, who brings over 25 years of experience in London’s real‑estate finance sector—covering lending, borrowing, and asset management—has been named senior director of the private finance practice. He will work alongside RIB’s chief executive, Antony Antoniou, whose background in investment management, structured funds, syndicated and co‑investment products extends across RIB’s commercial and investment arms as well as the family office Aspida Capital, where he serves as managing director.
He said, “It launches at a critical moment for our clients, who require disciplined, professional guidance to navigate today’s market. Capital is available and lenders are presenting ever more sophisticated solutions to the equity gap—but knowing how and where to deploy them is what truly matters.”
The newly formed senior‑led advisory team is collaborating with investors, lenders, and developers to create and safeguard value across both new and existing real‑estate assets and portfolios. Its professional, tailored services place client ambitions and objectives at the forefront, emphasizing trust, sound judgment, and clear specialist advice throughout the engagement, the firm noted.
Antoniou added, “Having operated on both sides of the borrowing and lending spectrum in fluctuating real‑estate markets, I’m eager to bring that perspective to a segment that has long been underserved. Partnering with Antony and the broader RIB team ensures our counsel is rooted in deep transactional expertise across the wider property market and the underlying assets—not merely the debt that backs them.”
