Apple’s multi-device protection plan, AppleCare One, is expanding beyond the United States a year after its domestic debut. The service will launch in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Australia on August 4.
“With AppleCare One, customers in the UK can now enjoy the trusted protection of AppleCare+ in a way that’s simpler and more flexible than ever before — one plan, one price, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing all their eligible products can be covered,” Apple stated in a UK newsroom announcement.
In the UK, the plan costs £16.99 per month for three devices, with additional devices priced at £4.99 per month each. French pricing is set at €20.99 per month for three devices and €5.99 per month for each additional device, according to 01net.com. By comparison, the US plan runs $20 per month for three devices and $6 per month for each extra device.
AppleCare One mirrors the coverage of AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss, providing unlimited repairs for accidental damage, battery replacement service, and 24/7 priority access to Apple experts. Theft and loss protection extends to iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. The plan covers both new purchases and existing devices up to four years old, provided they are in good condition.
Concurrently, Apple is adding Theft and Loss coverage for iPad and Apple Watch to the standard AppleCare+ tier in the UK, joining the iPhone which already offered the option. UK pricing for the base iPad model starts at £4.99 per month (£49.99 annually), compared to £3.49 monthly for standard AppleCare+ without theft and loss. For the base iPhone 17, AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss is £9.49 per month versus £6.49 for the standard tier.
Cost savings depend on device mix and desired coverage. Apple calculates that a customer protecting an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch together could save up to £11.48 monthly compared to maintaining separate AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss plans for each device. However, insuring base-model devices under standard AppleCare+ without Theft and Loss (£6.49 + £3.49 + £2.49 = £12.47 total) would be cheaper than the £16.99 AppleCare One bundle. The multi-device plan becomes advantageous for higher-end devices, for users who want Theft and Loss coverage across the board, or when adding a fourth or fifth device — particularly expensive ones like MacBooks.
In the US, AppleCare One presents an even stronger value proposition following recent price increases for AppleCare+ on Macs and iPads, driven by higher hardware costs ranging from $100 for a base iPad to $500 for an M5 Max MacBook Pro.
