Three people were killed and 19 others were injured in separate Ukrainian drone strikes across Russia’s Belgorod border region on Tuesday, according to regional authorities.
The attacks struck a business establishment in a village near the frontier, killing two people, and a town outside the regional capital, Belgorod city, claiming another life. A further assault hit a bus in the town of Shebekino, close to the Ukrainian border, leaving all but one of the injured requiring hospitalization.
Moscow has alleged a pattern of systematic strikes on buses across Russian territories. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused Kyiv of targeting civilian transit “with maniacal persistence, taking revenge on ordinary people for growing failures at the front.”
Russian-installed authorities in occupied parts of eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region reported five people wounded in what they described as a Ukrainian drone strike on a bus on Tuesday. Authorities also blamed Ukraine for a prior attack on a bus carrying Belarusian children on holiday that killed one woman and injured six children. Ukraine’s military denied the accusations.
