View Man City summer 2026 transfer targets
Barcelona still confident of landing Manchester City midfielder Rodri, reports journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Barcelona have identified Rodri as their primary midfield target and have already agreed personal terms with the player.
To date, the Catalan side have seen two offers — £45 million and £51 million — rejected by Manchester City, yet they remain determined to pursue the deal.
Rodri has informed City that he does not intend to sign a new contract beyond June 2027 and is eager to join Barcelona.
Talks between the two clubs continue, and Barcelona believe an agreement will eventually be reached.
Manchester City have begun scouting successors for the World Cup‑winning midfielder, with Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi emerging as their leading candidate.
Bouaddi has likewise settled on personal terms with City, and a transfer could accelerate once Rodri departs.
Although Real Madrid had previously shown interest in Rodri, he politely declined, reiterating his preference for a move to Barcelona.
