INDIANAPOLIS — Anneli Maley’s journey to the WNBA has defied conventional expectations.
After going undrafted following her collegiate career at Oregon and TCU, Maley spent the bulk of her professional tenure overseas, competing in both China and her native Australia.
Entering this season, the 27-year-old had appeared in only four WNBA games, her previous stint coming in 2022 when the Chicago Sky signed her as a hardship player.
However, the new collective bargaining agreement has given Maley a genuine opportunity to secure a standard WNBA contract, marking a pivotal step toward her ultimate goal.
