Hong Kong Police Open Internal Probe Over Officer’s Viral Uniform Dance Clip

Hong Kong police have initiated an internal investigation into a serving officer who posted a video of herself dancing while wearing uniform on a mainland Chinese social‑media platform and have asked her to take the clip down.

The clip, which has become widely shared in recent days, shows a female constable with short hair performing hand gestures and dancing to upbeat music. Her face is partially covered by a filter that adds dog ears and a muzzle.

A police spokesperson confirmed to the South China Morning Post that the individual in the video is an active‑duty officer.

“The force has always emphasised officers’ conduct and professional image. Should we find any officer breaching regulations, we will address the matter seriously,” he said.

The video conceals the officer’s shoulder patches, which normally display rank insignia and identification numbers.

The caption read: “It’s too hot. Let me fan some wind,” and included hashtags such as “society lovesong”, “cos” (short for cosplay), and “uniformedlook”.
