Bare knuckle boxing is gaining significant traction across the United States and international markets. According to BKFC president David Feldman, former UFC champion Conor McGregor is expected to compete in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship after his next UFC bout.
McGregor and BKFC: Essential Details
Feldman stated confidently: “I really, really would bet my house that you see Conor McGregor fighting BKFC after his next fight.” He noted that McGregor seemed more focused than ever during their conversation.
McGregor returned to the UFC octagon at UFC 329 on July 11, where he suffered a first-round TKO loss to Max Holloway after sustaining a knee injury. The injury occurred within seconds of the bout, and McGregor has since recovered from surgery. He aims to complete his UFC contract with one final fight, though no return date has been set.
As a BKFC part-owner since April 2024, McGregor’s transition to bare knuckle competition could redefine the sport’s biggest events. BKFC officials anticipate such a matchup would establish the largest bare knuckle boxing spectacle in the promotion’s history.
