On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump warned that any nation providing support to Tehran—or offering any form of lifeline to Iran—would face economic repercussions.
He declared on social media that the United States would launch the “most crushing economic operation ever taken against any country,” describing it as unprecedented economic warfare and isolation.
Trump added that any country allowing its financial institutions, businesses, airports, or government entities to assist Iran would itself encounter tremendous economic consequences.
He did not detail the specific measures Washington might implement nor name any particular countries.
