Their five‑year Netflix deal, signed in 2020 and reportedly worth between $60 million and $100 million, delivered several programmes. It has since been replaced by a less lucrative arrangement amid a broader downturn across the entertainment industry.
The Sussexes’ production business also experienced high staff turnover, with some former employees reportedly referring to themselves as the “Sussex Survivors Club”.
Harry also found commercial success through his own memoir, “Spare”, which was a publishing phenomenon backed by a $20 million advance and sold more than six million copies worldwide, becoming the fastest‑selling non‑fiction book on record.
To promote the book, Harry held a public conversation with trauma specialist Dr Gabor Maté, exploring how his royal childhood shaped him. In an interview on BBC Newsnight, Maté described Harry as “very personable, very sensitive” and someone doing his best to ensure “he doesn’t pass on his traumas to his children”.
