A chaotic qualifying session at New Hampshire Motor Speedway resulted in five drivers failing to make the Craftsman Truck Series field, triggering a domino effect that ultimately cost Toni Breidinger her seat.
The turmoil extended beyond the widely noted Frankie Muniz–Luke Baldwin swap. Dawson Sutton, the sole full-time driver for Rackley W.A.R., found himself forced to qualify on speed due to an unconventional lineup shuffle. Sutton typically pilots the No. 26 Chevrolet, which sits comfortably in owner points, but moved to the No. 27 this weekend to help Breidinger—who had two DNQs in five prior attempts with the team—secure a spot via the No. 26’s points position.
The gamble collapsed when Sutton encountered severe brake issues during Friday’s lone practice session, preventing him from turning a single qualifying lap.

Breidinger, backed by sponsor Raising Cane’s, qualified 34th-fastest among 41 entries and made the field on owner points. However, the team opted to prioritize their full-time entry, withdrawing Breidinger so Sutton could reclaim the No. 26 for Saturday’s race. Motorsport.com’s Matt Weaver confirmed the seat swap was already underway at the track.
Sutton enters the regular-season finale 18th in the championship standings with no realistic path to the playoffs. The top ten in points will lock in their postseason berths after this event. Consequently, Sutton joins Muniz, Mason Massey, Derek White, and DL Wilson on the sidelines for the race.
