On August 21, 2025, BigXthaPlug was arrested for possessing less than two ounces of marijuana and unlawful firearm possession, just hours before his album release. Exactly one year later, on August 21, 2026, he was arrested again—this time for driving while intoxicated, possession of under two ounces of marijuana, and unlawful firearm possession.
As a result of the arrest, the rapper missed his headlining slot at Winnipeg’s Country Rising Festival on Friday. The festival announced via Instagram that he would not be performing, citing a “personal emergency.” He was taken into custody in Allen, a Dallas suburb, and booked into the Collin County Jail. Although he was scheduled to appear at the Iowa State Fair today, The Des Moines Register reports that, as of Saturday morning, he remains incarcerated.
