Driscoll’s Announces Brie Reiter Smith as New CEO

Driscoll’s, a leading US berries supplier, has appointed founding family member Brie Reiter Smith as its new chief executive officer.

Smith, whose grandfather Joe Reiter co‑founded Driscoll’s, is the daughter of Miles Reiter, the company’s executive chairman.

She assumes the position effective immediately, succeeding Soren Bjorn.

Bjorn joined Driscoll’s in 2006 and was promoted to CEO in 2023.

Bjorn will remain engaged during the transition, supporting key strategic priorities, the company said in a statement on August 25.

Smith has held various senior roles at Driscoll’s, most recently serving as managing director of its Chilean operations.

She also serves as vice chair of the board, a role she took on in January.

Together with her husband Brian, Smith co‑owns the BerrySmith blueberry operation in Chile.

The Driscoll’s portfolio includes strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, sourced from farms in over 20 countries and sold in more than 40 markets worldwide.

This leadership change follows a series of recent personnel updates at Driscoll’s.

In April, the company created a chief operating officer role and appointed Wyard Stomp to it; he also continues to lead EMEA operations.

Shaily Sanghvi, CFO for the Americas, now also oversees global strategy, expanding her responsibilities.

Driscoll’s also appointed former Coca‑Cola executive Wadih Khayat as its chief financial officer in March.
