Ric Flair Skips Cauliflower Alley Reunion Due to Blood Clot
Due to a medical complication—a blood clot in his leg—Ric Flair will be unable to attend the upcoming Cauliflower Alley Club’s 60th‑annual reunion on August 26 and cannot accept the Iron Mike Mazurki Award in person.
Originally slated to receive the Iron Mike Mazurki Award at the banquet, Flair had both Jerry “The King” Lawler and Jimmy Hart step forward and deliver his speech, while Flair appeared by video to offer his apologies and explain his situation.
Although the health condition limits Flair to short trips, he expressed confidence that he is feeling well and hopes to maintain his health for some time to come.
“I have a blood clot in my leg, which prevents long trips such as these,” remarked 77‑year‑old Flair. “However, I am grateful for everyone able to be there tonight and honor me.”
Beyond the announcement, Flair pledged his support for the club’s charitable mission and made a personal contribution to help financial needs of vulnerable wrestlers and former athletes.

The Iron Mike Mazurki Award recognizes extraordinary achievement, lasting impact, and a lifetime of service to professional wrestling. Listed among its most prestigious recipients are Mick Foley, Sting, CM Punk, JBl, Madusa, and Mark Henry.
This year’s additional honorees include Bret Hart, Dan Spivey, The Glamour Girls, Jimmy Korderas, Psicosis, Gary Michael Cappetta, Bill Apter, Bobby Bass, Tony Atlas, Rip Rogers, and Dan Murphy.
