The Steelers completed their preseason on Thursday and have started trimming their roster down to the league‑required 53 players before Sunday’s 6 p.m. ET deadline.
The team announced the release of 11 players: tight end Jaheim Bell, offensive lineman Greg Crippen, defensive backs Jaylon Guilbeau, Jack Henderson, Brandon Hill, Tamon Lynum, Daryl Porter, wide receivers Jakobie Keeney‑James, Cornell Powell, Isaiah Winstead, and running back Alex Tecza.
Coach Mike Tomlin’s staff still must decide whether to keep four quarterbacks on the active roster.
Quarterback Will Howard is currently being evaluated for a concussion sustained in Thursday night’s game. The test results are pending, and a potential placement on injured reserve would give the Steelers at least four games to determine if they want to retain a four‑quarterback system for the season.
