[Milo Yiannopoulos Detained By U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement]
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has detained prominent far‑right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos on Thursday, as reported by agency records on Friday. Yiannopoulos, 41, was taken into custody at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and faces a final removal order pending final clearance.
The Department of Homeland Security stated that Yiannopoulos legally entered the United States in May 2019 via New York City but “chose to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation’s laws.”
DHS further noted that while the individual remained silent publicly following the arrest, investigators have not confirmed whether he secured legal representation before being taken into custody.
