All indications suggest Egon Durban is on track to become the majority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. A group led by the Silver Lake executive is reportedly acquiring an additional 25 percent of the team, according to Bloomberg. This acquisition will bring Durban’s group’s total ownership to nearly 40 percent.
The NFL’s finance committee has already given its approval to the transaction, which is now slated for consideration by the full ownership at their quarterly meeting next week.
Earlier this year, Durban acquired an option to purchase a controlling interest in the team, to be exercised if Mark Davis opts to sell. While an unnamed source initially insisted at the time that Davis had “no intention” of selling, Davis’s later remarks hinted that the possibility remained open. In April 2026, Davis told Paul Gutierrez of Raiders.com, “I don’t have any children or a wife at this time, and so it was prudent to put together a succession plan that would make sure that there were no issues, should something happen to me or should I decide. . . .” Should Davis ultimately decide to sell, Durban is widely expected to assume control.
